Very good book for CLS certification exam!!!
I used this book to study for the Lotus Notes Application Development exam (190-271). I spent a little more than two weeks preparing and found this book to contain information very useful and close to the actually exam. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to pass the Application development exam for CLS/CLP status. I passed with 94%. (75% required to be certified)

Easy to understand and definitely geared toward the exams!
This book is the best Lotus Notes app dev certification guide that I've seen yet. It's very clear and well laid out, with good examples that illustrate the concepts. In addition, the test questions at the back of each chapter are extremely helpful. I plan on recommending this guide to all my colleagues and team members who are not yet certified.

A good book in need of an update
Ms. Schwarz does a fine job of covering many of the basics and some of the advanced elements of Lotus Notes R4.x. Of course, Lotus has since updated its exams for the CLS and CLP to focus more closely on R5, so this book falls a bit short of giving you everything you need to pass the new (510 and 511) exams. However, if you have some spare change burning a hole in your pocket, and have already bought Tim Bankes CLP Fast Track, this makes for a handy supplement with its chapter reviews and notes (many of which STILL appear on the exams).
