The "Information Factory" knowledge work as production
Patterson re-iterates many commonly understood program management principles here, but he also launches a very perceptive discussion of knowledge work as an "information factory" in which information can and should be treated as physical products are in a normal factory. Concepts that can productively be applied include the value of Work In Process, total cycle times, and the cycle time reduction model used by Toyota to increase productivity. A must-read chapter for anyone managing knowledge work! Similar Products
