Disruptive Technologies: Catching the Wave
I was not able to read the book because of problems with ADOBE. This one was my first e-book purchase. I`m disapointed I wasn't able to read it and I lost my money.

Disruptive Technologies?
This negatively based book is geared towards industries and business that have failed to take automatic, proactive steps towards incorporating technology. Focused on marginal, american-based corporations that do not adequately plan for such common events as technological impact, the attempt is to persuade that new advances are 1) Predictable, 2) Quantifiable or measureable and 3) Going to accomplish what they claim they can accomplish. That none of these elements are true after several decades of "technological advance" is easily observed in the current income polarization occuring in the United States today. Accessing technology did not improve the quality of the workers life, nor did it strengthen the businesses that incorporated it. Just another attempt to create a catch-phrase by the author, he has inadvertantly depended on a target audience that has already failed to institute basic planning techniques that define areas of impact and which have clearly demonstrated achievable success. He would ask us risk our efforts on new technologies in an attempt to give customers what they want before they have even shown they have have any interest in it. I'd recommend rolling the dice on service improvements that are directly and unabiguously observable by the customer. Personally I assign my reading time on the more positive catch-phrases like "The 7 Habits..." or "In Search of..." or "Principle Centered Leadership" rather than random word linkages like these. Just a thought....Peter J. Evans III
