The Genie out of the Bottle
The book was purchased for background information on oil price movements and their effects on the economy for a graduate level business course. The book was helpful in providing background on energy policy and how OPEC came to gain a large measure of control over world oil supplies and as a direct result oil prices. The text is a bit dry as could be expected. The author does manage to keep a rather complex subject interesting to the reader and provides a unique perspective into oil prices, government policies and the power that control over a large portion of the world's energy supply provides.
