Excellent Information
This manual has been replaced by IFSTA's new Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator handbook. This book contains more of the technical knowledge of pumping apparatus than the new edition but isn't as practical. This book has a good section on apparatus purchasing, which doesn't apply to most of us but is surely useful to some.

This book is no longer available but if you could get this book used it might be beneficial for a pumping apparatus operator or anyone who works with Fire Department Pumping Apparatus. Fire Pump theory is well explained as is apparatus testing and maintenance. This book is much better for the information it but is much less practical than the revised version and doesn't quite give the skills necessary to operate a pump. The information in this book is beneficial to the information that is in the new version.
