Not my favorite
This book contains the usual discussion of various handwriting traits. Occasionally the examples provided don't illustrate the trait they are said to, and some of the author's interpretations are completely different than those given in most other places.

What was most annoying was the author's attitude....patronizing throughout, with some of the most astounding displays of bigotry I've seen in a book of this type. The chapter called 'Why Sex Is Not Indicated in the Writer's Handwriting' is a classic in sexist thinking.

Some quotes:

"I cannot stress enough the necessity for parents to teach children self-reliance, cooperation, a sense of responsitility..." [Much along this line.]

"Although this person is the product of a private school and has many of the elements (selectiveness, mild snobbishness, self-centeredness) often found in such writers..."

"The characteristic Southern [USA] handwriting will almost invariably show signs of procrastination and inertia."

"Few women really enjoy something they cannot do spontaneously."

"The adventurous spirit of the explorer....is essentially masculine."

etc.

one of the finest books on the subject
The book is detailed but is written in a good flow hence making the book very intersting.Though at places certain very detailed deductions have been left out,but still the examples are well explained .Many of the examples are interesting and the very fact that the book allows you to think with an open mind and take the writing as a painting rather than a script is inspiring. It lives upto the true spirit of the science.
