Practical and inspiring guide to defining one's ideal life
For those of us working harder than ever, but unsure of the meaning and purpose of following a "successful" career, M.M. Kirsch provides a common-sense guide to discovering our true work calling. This book focuses on redefining what a quality life is for each of us. The areas of primary importance include work, prioritizing our responsibilities, and finding an ideal place to live. I have owned a copy of this book for several years, and I use it often to refine and focus where I am in my life as opposed to where I should truly be. While I have not fully committed to getting off the "fast track", as the author and her family have, I find this book comforting and supportive of my future plans to do so. It is filled with first hand examples and stories of successful people who longed for something more for their lives than just having it all, earning more money, and being seen as "successful" by society. In addition to the stories, there are practical steps given to assess one's present situation, define what we truly want our lives to be, and many tips on how to make the transition. There is some good information on possible geographic locations to live "the good life", but only enough to spur further research by the reader. All in all, a great and simple book to read and refer to often for those who are looking to "get off the fast track" and live a simpler, happier life. Similar Products
