Highly Recommended!
Laurie Beth Jones zeroes in on the qualities that made Jesus a successful leader, one of the most respected and beloved in human history. This book introduces you to Jesus, the executive, not Jesus, the religious messiah. The book is not written as a Christian guide to leadership. In fact, it isn't written as a continuous narrative at all. Jones offers many sayings based on Jesus' biblical teachings and the qualities he demonstrated. She poses each saying or quotation as a separate lesson accompanied a couple of pages of description and interesting examples. A widely praised, national best seller, this book is engaging, delightfully written, detailed yet concise, and witty. It presents what amounts to a very fleshed-out list of leadership attributes. We [...] recommend this book to managers and leaders, regardless of their religion or cultural identity.

Nice "devotional" reading for leaders
I read this book for a report for a college leadership class. My teacher said later he was hesitant to let me use this book because he didn't know if a religious book would relate well to "secular" ideas of leadership. I found they did, very well. This book is written in short essays. It takes about a minute or two to read each chapter. Leadership principles or skills are illustrated using the words or actions of Jesus. There are over 80 illustrations. I found that traits Jesus exemplified are to be found in "new" ideas professed in all three of my secular leadership classes.

Some problems with the book depending on who's reading it:
--If you're an athiest or a religious non-Christian, you're not going to "get it";
--If you're a Christian you might find that Jones stretches a bit at times to make her "Jesus connection." And sometimes it seemed that Jones didn't know whether to treat Jesus as a God or just a very wise man.

I told my prof I think maybe agnostics would have the easiest time with it. Fundamentally, for this to have any impact on you, you must accept that Jesus existed, that He did the things the Bible said He did, and that His ministry changed the course of the world--you can believe or not that He was God, the Son of God, or a great prophet. Recommended for anyone who wants to know what traits one person had that his 3-year ministry could change the world forever.

For what it is--a simple, devotional-like read, illustrating many leadership traits of an amazing being--I give it an excellent rating.

Practical Applications Oriented as well as Wisdom Filled
Laurie Beth Jones breaks her discussion of Jesus' Ancient Wisdom of Leadership into three sections: Self Mastery, Action and Relationships.

The short, punchy chapters in this book make it the perfect daily companion. I really appreciate how Jones shares examples and illustrations from Bible references as well as bringing in people like Georgia O'Keefe and Dan Millman and others.

Each chapter concludes with a question or two (several have quite a few) which allow the integration and application of the principles in that chapter. I could definitely see taking a chapter a day and really studying and applying as I go about living my life, working my business, etc.
