Good. But there was something missing.
Well you can say I am a fan of Sybex books, not really, I just try to stay with my both feet on the ground, and I believe if a book helps you pass an exam, it is certainly not bad, or at least it did something right. This book is not the best I have seen from Sybex, in my opinion it left two important things. First, the answers for review questions at the end of each chapter were not explained. This is something very important when you are studying, because you want to know the WHY!!!!!, why were you right or why were you wrong. Second, I agree with another reader that said that they left the Novell section out. Believe me, even if you don't like Novell or you think is outdated, you have to know how to make it work with Windows NT and the services Windows NT has for Novell. I passed the test on my first try and 30% of my test had to do with Novell. I really didn't have a problem since I am a CNA and I do work with Novell every single day, but if you have no experience with Novell try going a little deeper on this subject.

To double check what you understood I would recommend a small book like the NT Server 4 Exam Cram from Coriolis ISBN 1-57610-190-8. This is a small simple review book that has a lot of questions with its answers, and tells you at the end of a chapter where to find more information on each subject.

Well I guess that's about it. Good luck on your test.

Dry, Inconsistent, and Frustrating
This book does a decent job of summarizing what you need to know for the NT Server exam. However, it is so dry, has some glaring holes in coverage, and has a ton of review questions that are misleading or wrong, that I didn't recommend this to any of my friends who started their certification training. Believe it or not, by using mostly the Dummies series (yes, I said Dummies..,) the exam cram series, and Brain Dump Heaven, I was able to come out with a pretty good passing score. Final word: There are other, better "big book" study guides out there for you to purchase and study from, if that's what you're looking for. Check out the reviews on those books as well to see if they are worthwhile.
