"THE SALES FORMULA FOR SUCCESS"
JIM DOLINGER'S "SELLING IN THE REAL WORLD" IS THE PERFECT PRIMER FOR NEW SALES PEOPLE.THIS BOOK CHARTS THE COURSE FOR THEM TO SUCCEED.IT IS ALSO A GREAT REMINDER TO THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN SELLING FOR MANY YEARS.IT REMINDS US OF THE BASICS FROM WHICH WE MAY HAVE STRAYED. I AM IN A UNIQUE POSITION TO JUDGE THE QUALITY AND USEFULNESS OF THIS FINE BOOK. I AM A GRIZZLED SALES VETERAN,HAVING STARTED MY SELLING CAREER AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 12(SELLING MAGAZINES DOOR TO DOOR}.I HAVE COVERED THE GAMUT OF JOBS FROM SALESMAN TO VICE PRESIDENT/ GENERAL MANAGER OF A DIVISION OF A MAJOR U,S, CORPORATION.I ALSO OWNED MY OWN SALES COMPANY FOR TWENTY YEARS. IHOLD A GRADUATE DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY, THUS I CAN APPRECIATE THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF "THE SALE" INDICATED IN THIS BOOK ,THE USE OF WHICH CAN CONTRIBUTE GREATLY TO A VERY SUCCESSFUL SALES CAREER. JIM DOLINGER AND I HAVE WORKED TOGETHER IN THE SAME COMPANY AND I HAVE PERSONALLY WITNESSED THE SUCCESS OF HIS TRAINING PROGRAM.

HE HAS HELPED MANY MEDIOCRE SALESMEN TO BECOME VERY SUCCESSFUL. HIS EXPERIENCE INDICATES THAT GREAT SALESPEOPLE ARE CREATED,NOT BORN. I HIGHLE ENDORSE "SELLING IN THE REAL WORLD" TO ANYONE WITH THE DESIRE,THE DISCIPLINE AND THE COURAGE TO SUCCEED IN SALES. I CAN ATTEST TO THE FACT THAT THIS BOOK IS BORN OF FACT ,NOT THEORY. EACH TIME I REREAD THIS BOOK I AM REMINDED OF THE THINGS THIS 71 YEAR OLD,GRIZZLED SALES VETERAN,HAS FORGOTTEN,OVERLOOKED OR SKIPPED DUE TO OVERCONFIDENCE. THE BOOK TEACHES THE VALUE OF WORKING SMART-NOT HARD. SALES WILL BECOME EASY TO THOSE WHO PRACTICE AND WITH DEDICATION USE THE PRINCIPLES,TECHNIQUES AND PSYCHOLOGY OF THE SALE ESPOUSED IN THIS SELLING GUIDE.IT IS A SELLING TOOL YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO BE WITHOUT OR USE.

Could be better
Having been lucky enough to be trained by Mr. Dolinger, I can say that he is truly an amazing salesman. However, Mr. Dolinger, who looks exactly like Christopher Reeves in "Superman", could've written a better book. I know Jim knows his stuff, but he just doesn't reveal anything new here. I think this could've been a much better book if he could explain some of his own personal sales techniques, instead of someone elses. If he could explain how he can entertain a group of people for hours, having them totally captivated and in awe, or how he uses humor and makes artful use of stories and metaphors, then this book would be great. I think this book is good if you've never sold anything in your life, but if you want some really powerful techniques, I would suggest checking out anything by Richard Bandler, Kenrick Cleveland, and "Unlimited Selling Power" by Donald Moine and Kenneth Lloyd.
