Supplement with The Complete Guide to the Book of Proverbs.
This is a wonderful overview of the Bible whose strength is its punchy sense of humor. The comments are insightful, interesting and fun. A great supplement to this book is THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE BOOK OF PROVERBS by Cody Jones. Numerous characters from throughout the Bible are pointed out who illustrate King Solomon's witty observations on human nature. Many of the riddles and mysteries of Proverbs are explored with surprising new answers. Proverbs are a treasury of God's wisdom and give practical applications of Biblical values in punchy memorable sayings.

A nice overview of the bible
So many people read from the bible each week, or hear verses in church, and know not much more than the text. This book provides wonderful historical information, understanding not only the text, but how the bible came to be, and events in christian history. A nice overview of the bible.

I never knew the Bible could be such a page turner!
Anyone with even the slightest curiosity about the Bible MUST get this book. If seeing Mel Gibson's Passion movie made you ask questions like, "I didn't know Pontius Pilate had a wife?" and "Someone helped Jesus carry the Cross, really?" then you will not be disappointed with this great read.
