Not the typical "how to" homeschool manual
This book was different than the myriad of books that I have read on home schooling in that it goes beyond the basic issues normally discussed. It covers home schooling in the military, running a home-based business, including music in our curriculum (often a neglected subject), etc.
She encourages us to be involved in our community as home schoolers rather than just a separate society with our own elite groups. Her thoughts on relationships with public schools were definitely thought provoking as so often we are told, to "avoid them like the plague." Her rationale and reasoning are well thought out on this issue.
A good read.
