Definitely a worthwhile book!
With the help of this book, I have been able to purchase fabrics, furniture, and lighting fixtures all at considerable savings. The book was published in 1996 so some of the sources in the book are no longer in existence but there are enough resources to find whatever you need or want! This book is a definite must for the person who wants to do some decorating or remodeling and wants to save some money too! I highly recommend it!

Good book but out-of-date
This is a great explanation of how to save money when buying furniture. However, I tried the number that Kimberly Causey suggests in her response to this fact and the people I spoke with said that the 1996 version of the book is the most up-to-date.Either Kimberly is mistaken or the people selling her book are mistaken. Either way the only version I have found is the one that is 5 years old.

A good start
You can go down to North Carolina, it's said, and purchase furniture for a deep discount off showroom prices elsewhere in the US. Buy enough and the freight charges are well offset by the savings.However, where to begin? Who to see? What to watch out for? The internet is surprisingly little help in providing clear information about buying furniture direct from manufacturers and outlets in North Carolina. This book is of some assistance, organizing information for you. The only caveat is like any other book dealing with retailers or outlets, the information becomes dated. Companies come and go. Websites go up and down. So I recommend this book to learn about the process of buying furniture this way, but you may find the information needs an occasional update.
