This Book is No "Wooden" Bazooka--It's the Real Thing
Read it. This a riveting eye witness account of life in eastern Germany during Hitler's rise, World War II and the post war Communist years. It is a valuable historical memoir of these times as well as the early years of Silicon Valley. But it is much more. The author was captured twice, tortured, "tried" and imprisoned for over two years for nothing more than trying to escape the oppression of an insane government. A fascinating mix of risk-taking free thinker and meticulously trained optical and mechanical engineer, the author fought his way to the United States and pursued his fortune in start-up electronics ventures. Whether or not you agree with everything he has to say, this is a brilliant man with a direct and fast-moving writing style. You will not be able to put it down.
